Meghan Markle took this dog from a shelter to Windsor

Just three years ago Guy was waiting to be euthanized in a Kentucky high-kill shelter. Today, he sits proudly in the lap of royalty.

Found wandering all alone in the woods, Guy the beagle was taken to a shelter and put on a kill list before he was rescued by none other than the newly appointed Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

Markle adopted Guy back in 2015 after meeting him at a pet store in Ontario, Canada. He has become the star of her Instagram account ever since, and was often spotted snuggling alongside Markle’s other rescue dog, Bogart.

Guy has since moved to the UK with his mom and has been spotted being escorted alongside Queen Elizabeth to Windsor Castle a day before the royal wedding took place – not bad for a rescue dog!
